The telephone network has always been thought of as never going down. However, during the last round of hurricanes, floods and other disasters we found out that notion is no longer true. The telephone network was one of the last things restored after a big natural disaster. It is this exact situation where Smart & Boundless shines. Unlike the traditional phone lines, your phone number and service can appear anywhere there is a broadband connection (cable and DSL). And, you are in control as to when and where the phone number appears.

So if another disaster knocks down the phone lines, you can setup in another location such as a hotel conference room where there is power or even another city, state or country. Your phone number is not limited by the phone company anymore. Wherever there is a broadband connection you have phone service and your numbers will ring there - - just plug in your phones and you’re up and running.

Smart & Boundless phone service is delivered through your Internet connection such as cable, DSL or by high speed data lines. Many have the valid concern about what happens if my Internet connection goes down. There are multiple solutions to this issue. First Smart & Boundless has an option that if your Internet connection goes down, it can still deliver the call using a regular telephone line. If you choose not to use this option, Smart & Boundless has a feature called SureConnect which delivers an inbound call to an alternate number such as a cell phone or record a voicemail. Another choice is to have 2 separate Internet connections such as a cable connection and a DSL connection. An Internet outage is usually caused by the company providing the Internet connection, therefore the rest of the Internet is up and running fine. So having two Internet providers solves this issue.
